Sr Valda Cervetto rsm was a guest at the Opening of the Year Mass at the school she attended as a young child, St Joseph’s Primary School, Kangaroo Point.

Sr Val’s grandparents were parishioners of Kangaroo Point as were her parents. Her siblings also attended St Joseph’s in the 1930s and 40s. Sr Val is pictured with Sr Maureen Keenan rsm who is now the School Pastoral Worker at St Joseph’s. During the Mass, the student leaders were presented with their badges by Sr Maureen and the Principal, Micheal O’Sullivan.

A number of Sisters of Mercy accepted the invitation of the Principal to join the students, teachers and parents in asking God’s blessing on the year ahead.
