Her commitment to social justice and social inclusion has informed her life. Over her career, she has held positions as a school teacher, principal, and lecturer in social ethics, as well as setting up the House of Justice and Mercy in Brisbane for community and advocacy groups. Now in her 90's, Catharine has represented the Sisters of Mercy Australia at a United Nation’s meeting in New York in 2013 to stop human trafficking.
