Sisters of Mercy, Brisbane Congregation, recently celebrated the Jubilee of Profession of twenty of its members. The first celebration was held at Bethesda, Nudgee, where during a Prayer Ritual, Srs Carmel Quinlivian, Mary Whelan, Nora Downes, Eileen Brosnan, Anne Therese Hannigan, Eugenia Barrett were acknowledged for their 70 years of Commitment and Sr Shirley Meares for her 60 years of Commitment. The Congregation gathered in All Hallows Chapel for Eucharist to acknowledge Srs Mary Britton and Angela Mary Doyle for their 70 years, Srs Patricia MacGinley, Michaeleen Ahern, Josefena Dooley and Carmel Martin for 60 years, Srs Rosaleen Carroll, Patricia Kirchner, Pauline Burke, Anne O’Farrell and Brigid Hirschfeld for 50 years, and Srs Barbara Donohue and Geraldine Fitzgerald for 40 years of Religious Commitment. Eucharist was celebrated by Columban Father John Connolly.
